EXPERIENCE

Each person’s unique perception shapes the way they experience and interact with the world. Often, life brings about challenges that impact our ability to experience ourselves, others, and our surroundings fully, making us feel fragmented or disconnected. Blanca views her role as helping others regain a sense of wholeness by providing clients with a space free of judgment to practice and gain self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.

“I have a passion to help those who are in need to process emotional and psychological trauma. I incorporate a body, mind, and spirit approach to help others recognize their capacity to reconnect to themselves and to their loved ones. I believe that healing emerges through connecting with others and a combination of mindfulness, here-and-now experiences, and movement.”

Blanca created and led an expressive arts group for female victims of domestic violence with a focus on, identifying self-strengths, recognizing trauma reactions and triggers, managing flashbacks and nightmares, finding a sense of self, establishing boundaries, and forming healthy relationships. She has conducted individual sessions with adolescents and adults concerning trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and self-esteem issues. She has also worked with couples with a history of trauma. Blanca has also been trained in the field of Play Therapy for younger children.

Blanca graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Master of Science in Counseling Her formal education has prepared her to counsel children, individual adults, groups, families, and couples. She is qualified to provide counseling services in both English and Spanish and qualified to work with the LGBTQIA+ population using the modality of affirmative therapy.
